Victorian Heavy Cut Lidded Sweet Jar
This is a heavily cut lidded jar, with fabulous decoration on all surfaces, very typical of the time, this would have been from a wealthy persons house, and would have fitted in well with the taste for heavy ornamentation at the end of the 19th century. It has a square base with a cut stem, bowl and lid, the top of the bowl has a castellated shape, which the heavily cut lid fits into. An impressive piece of cut glass.
There are several tiny chips to the very edges which are difficult to see, but overall is in good sound condition.
