Victorian Cut Glass Decanter

Victorian Cut Glass Decanter

SKU: RJ01770
£45.00Price

Until the 1670s wine was served at the table in jug or green glass bottle. The decanter started to appear after 1670 and usually took a jug form, it wasn't until the middle of the 1700s that decanters were seen in a form we are more familiar with now.

This is a Victorian cut glass decanter with original stopper. It has hatch and star cutting to the body and panel cutting on the neck. This would have been in a relatively wealthy household or Gentleman's club of the day.

The decanter is in good condition.

Dimensions: 28cm x 11cm
