From the middle of the 19th century, when we were in the midst of the Industrial Revolution, many silversmiths set up premises in Birmingham and Sheffield, producing electroplated cutlery. It was the fashion in the Victorian era to have vast sets of cutlery for everyday use and special occasions. The best pieces being used for afternoon teas and dinner parties.
 
This is a set of 12 silver plated cake or pastry forks with an embossed decoration.
 
All are in good condition with no wear to the silver plate.
