Late Victorian Potato Picker's Basket
Potato and vegetable picker's baskets were popular during the 19th and early 20th century. They are constructed of a heavy duty wicker and would have an open mesh steel base, the idea being that as you picked your potatoes, the loose soil would drop through the base, that way you weren't carrying excess weight with the soil.
The wicker and metal are both in good condition.
Dimensions: length 48cm x 33cm high x 34cm deep.
