Ornate Victorian Brass Inkwell
Before the invention of the fountain pen, all correspondence would be done using a dip pen and ink. Inkwells came in all shapes and sizes and for all pockets, from the humble stone bottle to the wonderfully ornate bronze and silver inkwells.
This is a Victorain brass and glass inkwell with an ornate pen tray, with a decoration of cornacopia and a figure of neptune. It would have been ideal for a small desk for a lady to deal with her daily correspondence.
In good condition.
