Late Victorian Pewter Hip Flask
Hip flasks became popular in the 19th century when it was the fashion for gentlemen and some ladies to enjoy the great outdoors. They would be carried in the pocket to shooting parties and other sporting events such as horse racing.
This is a large Pewter hip flask, the base detaches, to be used as a drinking cup.
The leather stitching is all in tact, and their is no damage to the glass.The pewter has some small marks and scuffs. The pewter cap fits well.
