During the 19th century, ladies would dress their hair with hair combs of various materials and designs.

This type of hair comb was used in Spain for centuries - referred to as a 'peineta'. The large comb was placed in the hair bun and then a piece of lace called a 'Mantilla' was draped over it. 

Dimensions: 18cm long and 8cm wide.
