Lustreware is a metallic finish on pottery or porcelain. It is a technique that has been used since the 9th century. It became popular in recent history in the 19th century when it started being mass produced by Wedgewood and Spode. 
 
This is a lustreware cup and saucer with a hand painted  blue decoration.
