Early Tunbridge Sewing Clamp
Made around 1800 in Royal Tunbridge wells in England
This is a sewing companion, consisting of pincushion to measure and clamp the clamp was used to secure material that was being worked on, it was secured usually to a table by means of a wooden, threaded,screw
made from lime wood and hand-painted decoration and always with some kind of romantic verse, they were made as a tourist souvenir earlier versions of Tunbridge, ware are always hand-painted .
Condition : in good condition considering its age.
