Large Victorian Oil Lamp with Frosted Shade
During the late 19th and early 20th century houses were lit with candles or oil lamps. The lamps would come in all grades from a cheap utility metal lamp, to elaborate silver or gilt lamp with ornate cut and painted globular shades.
Large Victorian oil lamp with frosted shade. This is a Victorian lamp with a glass reservoir mounted on an elaborate brass column sitting on a black pottery base with an original frosted glass shade. This lamp would be found in a wealthy household.
