In the 18th and 19 th century most homes would have a bible. The wealthier homes would have a large family bible.
 
This is a large family bible with a tooled and gilded leather cover, and brass clasps. The bible contains both the old and the new testaments, and contains coloured illustrations.
 
The condition is good with minors scruffs to the leather and some age spotting to the paper. The clasps work well.
