A very smart mahogany writing slope or lap desk. Brass corners are fitted to all sides and brass strapping to the edges. There is a brass cartouche to the lid and a brass escutcheon.
Condition : there is a small piece of veneer missing to the edge on one side, shown in close up photo. The box has very minor scratches commensurate with a box of this age.
