A Large Victorian Oil Lamp with a Pink Bowl and Shade
During the late 19th and early 20th century houses were lit with candles or oil lamps. The lamps would come in all grades from a cheap utility metal lamp, to elaborate silver or gilt lamp with ornate cut and painted globular shades.
A Tall Victorian oil lamp with a black pottery base and brass reeded column, holding an elaboratley decorated bowl in pink glass, highlighted in gold. The glass shade is in shaded pink with an acid etched decoration.
