Small Victorian Brass Bell
Bells were plentiful during the 19th and early 20th century and were used in all manor of situations, from a large school bell to counter bells in shops and delecate bells for ladies to use around the house to summon staff.
This is a fine desk bell, made from brass with a scalloped edge to the bell and an engraved dot motif, it has a fine, turned, hard wood handle. This type of bell would have used by a lady possibly on her desk or in the bed chamber to summon her maid.
The brass and the wood are both in good condition.
