An Early 20th Century Silver Plated Hotel Ware Tea Service
During the end of the victorian period and into the first half of the 20th century, hotels around the world would serve tea to their guests in silver plated wares, because of their constant use these had to be made of a good guage and the silver was often plated twice or three times to enable the piece to last for many years.
This is a small size three piece tea service, comprising a tea pot, a sugar bowl and a milk jug. It is a good quality piece and therefore would have been from a wealthy establishment. The tea pot holds a pint of tea and the milk jug is quite small, so would have been served to one person on a breakfast tray or afternoon tea tray.
In very good condition with no wear to the silver plate and no dinges.
