Victorian Mother of Pearl Dip Pen

Victorian Mother of Pearl Dip Pen

SKU: RJ00482
£18.00Price

Before the invention of the fountain pen, all correspondence would be done using a dip pen and ink. Inkwells came in all shapes and sizes and for all pockets, from the humble stone bottle to the wonderfully ornate bronze and silver inkwells. Every Ink stand would need at least one dip pen, these also came in a number of different materials.

This is a fine quality lady's mother of pearl dip pen, and would have been used by a lady of society on her personal desk. The nibs are interchangable.

Unfortunately this fine piece has some loss to the end of the mother of pearl handle, but still serves well as a decorative piece to an inkstand.

Dimensions: 16.5cm long
