Early 20th Century Blue and Gold Edged Dinner Plates and Tea Plates
Early 20th century fashions saw a departure from the elaborate and over-decorated style of the Victorian era. Everything from architecture, furniture, clothes and household objects had clear smarter lines. This was echoed in the design for pottery and china. A popular pottery design would be a simple gold line or blue line.
This is a selection of 29 blue and gold edged plates, this was a popular design at the beginning of the 20th century and was produced by several companies, hence this group has a mixure of 3 manufacturers in it, all with exactly the same design. Consisting of: 5 x Dinner plates, 3 x Salad plates, 10 mixed tea plates, 10 soup bowls, and one large soup bowl.
A little rubbing to the gilding but in general good order. no chips or cracks to the plate
