A Large Silver Plated Mesh Purse/Handbag
At the beginning of the 20th century it became more common place for a lady to use a small bag or purse, these initially would be very small to hold such as coins on a Sunday for church, or maybe a visiting card for calling on ladies during the day.
This is a large silver plated mesh purse with a silver plated frame. The frame has an embossed floral decoration and a twist clasp. This would have been owned by a lady of reasonable wealth, and would be used as an evening bag/purse.
Condition is good apart from one tiny hole to the bottom of the mesh.
