A Georgian Ox Bone Chess Set

SKU: RJ03051
£175.00Price

The history of chess is believed to date back over 1500 years, chess evolved into roughly its current form in the 15th century. The chess pieces come in many designs depending on the country where it was made in. In Britain we favoured the Staunton and the barley corn design.

This is a full set of English chess pieces, made from dyed and natural ox bone. The board is not included in this set.

There are no chips or cracks to these pieces but, as is often the case with a set of this age there is some ware to the red staining.

Dimensions: King 7.5cm high
