Early 20th Century Gentleman's Panama Hat
In Panama there was a large industry for making the woven straw material, this was used as the base for the Panama straw hat. The straw would be very finely woven into what was called "a hood", this was then sent all over Europe to hat manufacturers who would use this hood to form straw hats of the style that was popular at the time.
This is a finely woven gentleman's straw hat with a black stitched band. Most likely from a middle to high income family.
The condition is very good, no splits.
