A Huge Victorian Sycamore Pie Mould
In the Victorian bakery or large country house kitchen, the sycamor pie mould would be a popular item. The pastry would be formed around the shape in order to make large raised pies such as the famous Melton Mowbrey Pies, these types of pies were very popular for picnics and shooting parties.
This is a large example of a pie mould, it is made from sycamore and wood, regularly used in the kitchen for its antibacterial properties.
