From the middle of the 19th century, when we were in the midst of the Industrial Revolution, many silversmiths set up premises in Birmingham and Sheffield, producing electroplated cutlery. It was the fashion in the Victorian era to have vast sets of cutlery for everyday use and special occasions. The best pieces being used for afternoon teas and dinner parties. This is a set of 11 silver plated tea spoons, all decorated with an embossed design, they would have been used in a middle to high income household. The condition of the plate is very good. Dimensions: 14cm long
