Victorian Oak Coffee Grinder

Victorian Oak Coffee Grinder

SKU: RJ00034
£85.00Price

In the 18th and 19th century coffee was a popular hot beverage. The coffee beans would be purchased whole and would then need to be ground at home. Most households would have a coffee grinder.

This grinder is made from oak with a steel mechanism and a wooden finial to the end of the handle. It has a sliding lid for the beans to be deposited inside. The handle would then be turned - the coffee ground - which would drop into the drawer below.

The mechanical aspect works perfectly - the outer case is in reasonable condition.

Measuring 21.5cm high x 15cm square.
