Victorian Brass Inkwell in the Shape of a Weight
Before the invention of the fountain pen, all correspondence would be done using a dip pen and ink. Inkwells came in all shapes and sizes and for all pockets, from the humble stone bottle to the wonderfully ornate bronze and silver inkwells.
This is an unusual shaped inkwell, made to look like a weight. The inkwell is made from brass with a lead bottom, making it also feel like a weight.
The inkwell is in excellent condition with an intact, removable, glass resevoir for the ink.
