The Victorians were very fond of all things botanical and the fern decoration appears on all manor of things from pottery and glass to furnishings. The Victorian period brought with it fern-mania, which drew enthusiasts from all social backgrounds.
 
This is a harlequin set of 14 fern engraved glasses, each one decorated with a band of ferns around the bowl. They are all very slightly different, which is part of there charm.
 
Condition is good with no chips or cracks.
