Amethyst glass is made by adding manganese to the molton glass when blowing. In small quantities manganese ruduces the green colour of iron making glasses clearer, however in large doses it creates the amethyst hue.

These are clear stemmed amethyst glass. These would have been used as a white wine glass. We could use them now for water, wine or a port/liqueur glass. They are all hand blown and therefore slightly different. We have multiple, please ask.

Condition is good with no cracks or chips to the glass.
