Wine drinking was only a pastime of the wealthy, the poorer households would drink beer and cider, as the ingredients for these drinks were cheap and readily available, unlike grapes which required a green house or orangerie to grow in the British weather.

 

This is a silver corkscrew from Italy c1970. Marked .925 along with a Florence mark. Silver. coveringing a wooden body

 

In good condition.

 

Dimensions: 24cm extanded - 17cm contracted.
