Silver and Mother of Pearl Fruit Knife
During the 18th and 19th century most adults would have a small pocket knife. This would be used for anything from aiding needlework to peeling a piece of fruit.
The fashion in the 19th century was for mother of pearl, this was used to decorate anything from a small sewing tool to an elaborate piece of furniture.
This is a folding fruit knife with a mother of pearl handle and hallmarked silver blade. Hallmarked Sheffield 1928.
The mother of pearl is in very good condition with no cracks or breaks and silver blade folds well.
