Set of Nine Horn Handled Knives

Horn cutlery, serving pieces, and beakers, made from ox horn were fashionable from around 1600 to 1900. They used ox horn to make cutlery as it was strong, light weight and wouldn't rust or tarnish as steel would. It was used in all manor of households.

Here we have set of nine horn handled knives, made in France; the blade is made from stainless steel.
