Pewter Cigarette Box
From the seventeenth century onwards, there was scarcely a household in Britain that did not possess some items of pewter: plates, bowls, tankards, spoons, candlesticks were just some of the everyday items made from pewter.
This is a 1930's lidded pewter cigarette box, cedar lined with two compartments. Initials 'SC'
Stamped 'Best English Pewter' underneath.
In the 1930's there was a revived interest in pewter.
Condition is good.
