From the seventeenth century onwards, there was scarcely a household in Britain that did not possess some items of pewter: plates, bowls, tankards, spoons, candlesticks were just some of the everyday items made from pewter. Pewter tankards were used in public houses from the 17th century through to the 20th century.

Very large Flemish / Dutch Flagon also known as a stein. Made in Amsterdam circa 1920. Baluster-shaped flagon made from pewter. This impressive Flagon would hold approximately a litre of beer, which would have been drunk straight from the Flagon,

In good condition.

Measures 27 cm tall.
