Copper harvester jugs were part of large country house kitchens, the purpose of which was to fill with ale and take out to the farm workers at harvesting time. 

This particular jug is a large two gallon example and is constructed of copper with a keyed seam and is tin-lined. It has a Victorian duty stamp (a Weights and Measures' official stamp) on the inside rim. 

The body of the jug is in good condition, the handle has some dings. The jug is in overall good, solid condition able to hold water and is sold polished. 

Made around 1880 in England. 

Measuring 33cm high with a base diameter of 28cm.
