Large 18th Century Pewter Charger
From the seventeenth century onwards, there was scarcely a household in Britain that did not possess some items of pewter: plates, bowls, tankards, spoons, candlesticks were just some of the everyday items made from pewter.
These very large pewter serving plates or chargers would be used in taverns and country houses.
This charger has duty marks - shown in photo.
Several knocks buy no tears or split- surface has marks due to its age.
