Japanese Imari Design Bowl
In the middle of the 19th century, Japan started trading again with the West. At this time, all Japanese decoration started to become fashionable.
This design, called Imari, was very popular during the 19th century and into the begining of the 20th century, with its bright red and blue colours. This is a bowl used for display or to hold fruit and would have belonged to a family of reasonable wealth.
