Edwardian Cut Glass Spirit Decanter

Edwardian Cut Glass Spirit Decanter

SKU: RJ00888
£35.00Price

Until the 1670s wine was served at the table in jug or green glass bottle. The decanter started to appear after 1670 and usually took a jug form, it wasn't until the middle of the 1700s that decanters were seen in a form we are more familiar with now.

This is an Edwardian whisky decanter with cross hatch cutting to the body, and a star cut to the base. This would have been in a relatively wealthy household or Gentleman's club of the day.

The decanter is in good condition, the stopper has some very tiny nibbles.

Dimensions: 23cm x 9cm
