A Set of 10 Early 20th Century Val St Lambert Glasses

In 1825 Kemlin and Lelièvre bought the site of the former Val-Saint-Lambert Abbey in Seraing near Liège on the River Meuse. The company became world renowned for its quality of cutting and design. For the greater part of the 19th century its largest customer was Russia who really prized there cut glass.

 

This is a setof 10 wine glasses all with a cut and engraved design to the bowl and a tapered stem. In the 19th and early 20th century, wine glasses were a lot smaller than the large glasses we favour now. These would have been used in a relatively wealthy household.

 

The condition is very good with no cracks or chips.
