Butter stamps such as these would have been a common scene in rural kitchens, and farmhouses. Butter stamps were typically made from sycamore wood (due to the antibacterial properties of the wood), and used to curl and decorate butter along with butter pats, moulds and rotary wheels, make an evocative kitchen display. Each household would have had their own unique stamp.

Condition: Good condition, no splits. Small stain / mark to the shoulder of the curler
