Ironstone ware, or most commonly called just ironstone, is a type of vitreous pottery first made in the United Kingdom in the early 19th century. It was developed by potters in Staffordshire, England as a cheaper, hard-wearing  alternative to porcelain.

 

This is a lovely blue and white imari charger with foliage design.

 

Condition is good with no cracks or chips, very small glaze miss.
