This is a veneered walnut Victorian box with fine panels of inlaid exotic woods, a central diamond shaped cartouche and escutcheon both made from mother of pearl. 
 
This style of box wood be used as a needlework or jewellery box.
 
Condition is good with very minor marks comensurate with age. There is no key.
