During the 19th century and first quarter of the 20th century the globe was constrcted as a plaster sphere which had printed paper laid upon it.

This small desk globe is French and depicticts the Russian Revolution, so pre dates 1918.  It is on its original oak stand.

The condition of the sphere is reasonably good with only one tiny dinge, as seen the photographs. The metal frame joining the shere to the base is all intact with remnants of the original gilding. The base is in good condition with no cracks or splits.
