Victorian Steel corkscrew

Victorian Steel corkscrew

SKU: RJ00309
£20.00Price

Corkscrews were part of the general equipment of a middle to upper class society in the 19th century. Wine drinking was only a pastime of the wealthy, the poorer households would drink beer and cider, as the ingredients for these drinks were cheap and readily available, unlike grapes which required a green house or orangerie to grow in the British weather.

This is a steel corkscrew, named 'the eyebrow' because of the shape of the handle.

In good condition.

Dimensions: 11cm x 6 cm wide
