Georgian Glass with Cut Decoration
A delightful little port or gin glass (gin would have been drunk neat at the time) with a tapered bowl and engraved decoration. The foot is folded, this was popular from the mid to end of the 18th century, the purpose being to strenghen the base of the glass to help protect against chips. The glass has a conical foot and a pontil mark.
