Early 20th Century Brass Oil Lamp
During the late 19th and early 20th century houses were lit with candles or oil lamps. The lamps would come in all grades, from a cheap utility metal lamp to elaborate silver or gilt lamp with ornate cut and painted globular shades.
This is a brass oil lamp and would have been used in a humble cottage or by the staff in a large country or town house. The column and oil chamber are both constructed in a light weight brass and have a grill at the top of the chamber to hold a glass shade if needed.
The condition is good with no breaks or dinges.
