An Early 20th Century Brass Ladies Purse/ Handbag

SKU: RJ00770
£25.00Price

At the beginning of the 20th century it became more common place for a lady to use a small bag or purse, these initially would be very small to hold such as coins on a Sunday for church, or maybe a visiting card for calling on ladies during the day.

This is a small brass purse with a chain, it has engine turned engraving and a push button clasp. It is quite a simple purse and would have been used by a lady of moderate means. The inside is cloth-lined. There is a registration number on the purse for 1917.

Condition of the purse is good with no dinges or splits, the inside lining is worn. The clasp works fine and the chain is intact.

Dimensions: 7cm x 7cm
