£120.00Price

Leaving home for any length of time in the 19th and early 20th century required a lot of luggage.

Part of this luggage would be a  small case or leather bag with neccasery things such as note books, manicure sets, writing and smoking  implements.

This would have been part of a gentlemans travelling set, both pieces are covered in toolled crocodile skin and would have been the property of a wealthy gentleman. The first contains a glass bottle for ink with a well fitting interior to the lid and a metal clasp to the side to keep the ink from escaping. this has a concieled button to the front and is labelled in gold on the top the word "Ink"

The second is a case to keep and strike matches in, these are often called vesta cases. the intereior is lined with metal and has a hinged plate with ridges for you to strike your match, this also has a concieled button to open at the front and is embellished with the word "lights" in gold to the top.

Both are in very good condition with no ware or damage to the crocodile skin and no damage to the glass bottle.
