A Pair of Victorian Bronze Candelabra
Candlesticks and candelabra would have been used throughout the house as lighting in every room. They would adorn various places in the house including dining tables during mealtimes, mantlepieces throughout the evenings and bedsides at night. They came in various shapes and sizes and were made from a variety of materials including wood, brass, silver and silver plate.
This is a fine pair of French bronze candelabra in the classial style, both are mounted on marble bases. This style of candelabra would have adorned the mantlepieces of a wealthy household.
The overall condition is good, there have been small holes drilled into the bronze base for somebody to convert them to electric lamps, all of the wiring has been removed to return them to their original form. The marble bases have small scuffs but no cracks or major chips.
