Georgian Lignum Vitae Bowl
During the 18th and 19th century every household would have a variety of wooden bowls of all sizes and varying types of wood, used mostly in the kitchen.
This bowl is made from lignum vitae, an extremely dense wood which is hard to turn, and is know to blunt a cutters tool, hence there are few antique pieces to be found. This would have been in a wealthy household.
Condition is very good with no splits or cracks.
