Early 20th Century Horn Covered Penknife/Pocket Knife
During the 18th and 19th century most adults would have a small pocket knife. This would be used for anything from aiding needlework to peeling a piece of fruit.
This is a large penknife which would be used by a gentleman. It is constructed of steel with a panel either side of horn, there is one folding blade. This would be a popular design for men and boys of the late 19th and early 20th century, and would be used as a general knife to keep in your pocket whilst outdoors, for pastimes such as shooting parties and camping.
The overall condition is good, no splits to the horn, the metal has several minor scuffs.
