3 Large Victorian Oak Church Offertory Bowls

3 Large Victorian Oak Church Offertory Bowls

SKU: RJ00666
£75.00Price

A common part of any church service, going back centuries, was an offertory bowl, this was usually in wood and would be passed around at the end of the service for donations to the church.

These are 3 large oak offertory bowls from the middle of the Victorian period, each is lined in red baize to stop the coins from moving around.

Two of these bowls are in lovely condition, the third has been broken some time ago and glued back together (I like the fact that they would be too precious to the church to just discard, so it has been repaired instead). The patina on all is very good and show the testament to being polished for many years.

Dimensions: 26.5cm x 5cm
