From the middle of the 19th century, when we were in the midst of the Industrial Revolution, many silversmiths set up premises in Birmingham and Sheffield, producing electroplated cutlery. It was the fashion in the Victorian era to have vast sets of cutlery for everyday use and special occasions. The best pieces being used for afternoon teas and dinner parties.

 

These are a set of six silver plated Kings Pattern dinner forks.  They would have been owned by a household of reasonable means.  

 

The forks are in very good condition. 

 

Dimensions:  21cm in length.
